RECALL SAFETY INFORMATION
PEG PEREGO PRIMO VIAGGIO CAR SEATS

Dear Peg Perego Infant Seat or Travel System Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Peg Perego USA, Inc. (“Peg Perego”) has determined that certain Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant Car Seats produced from May 20, 2001 to and including February 15, 2002 fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213.  The Primo Viaggio infant car seats were sold separately with a base, or bundled with a stroller and sold as a Travel System.  The Production date of the car seat can be found on the Date-Code Label.  The Date-Code Label is a white sticker, located on the back of the Car seat between the straps.

Infant seats affected by the Recall have a snap in the upholstery directly over the locking belt adjustment mechanism.  When the upholstery is attached by the snap to the cover of the adjustment mechanism, it may cause tension in the upholstery due to the weight of the child, which may prevent the complete engagement of the adjustment mechanism.  As a result, some slippage on the harness restraints may occur.

Please review the attached Inspection Sheet to determine if this Recall Information and repair program affects your infant seat.  If it is affected, please follow the enclosed easy-to-read instructions to improve the safety of your infant seat.  Please affix the enclosed “Inspected/Passed NHTSA RECALL 02E006” sticker to the bottom of the infant seat once you have determined either than your infant seat is either not affected by this Recall Information, or that you have completed the repair.  If you are unable to repair your seat or if you have any other questions or concerns, please call Peg Perego at 1-877-737-3468.
